CITYMAPS

finally we start with the project CITYMAPS.
The project CITYMAPS consists in making a citymap of a city you don't know. You see photographs of this existing city but you don't have experience or memories of it. Because of your full imagination you'll create immediatly an identity of this other culture/town. Your imagination starts making a own identity into a CITYMAP.

In this project three Dutch artists are making each a CITYMAP of La Paz (Bolivia). Also three artists of La Paz are making each one a own CITYMAP of Amsterdam.
Besides the artists version of La Paz and Amsterdam there will be two other CITYMAP. These are made by a class of children. The Dutch group of artists will assists the primary school in Blokzijl by making a CITYMAP of LaPaz. The Bolivian artists are making together with the Gambarte school a CITYMAP of Amsterdam.
The artists on this weblog are the partecipating artists ( see into the right menu).

Each CITYMAP is 150 x 200 cm big, and made pf paper or textile. The CITYMAP is a drawing of the other city.
All 8 CITYMAPS will be showed during the second literary meeting Bolivia-the Netherlands (16-23 augusts 2007) in LaPaz.
